Intel continues to make remarkable moves in the graphics card world. Finally, the company claims that a new update for Intel Arc graphics cards delivers up to 119 percent performance boosts in more than 20 games.

Intel gears up for DX11 and DX12 with Arc update

Intel has released a new driver update for its Arc Alchemist series graphics cards that promise performance in many popular games. The new package, version 31.0.101.4885, offers up to 119 percent performance boost in certain games.

The most notable of these titles was Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which saw a 119 percent performance boost at 1080p / High graphics settings. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 experienced performance increases of 90 percent and 88 percent respectively at 1080p using DX11.

Intel said it delivered performance boosts in 20 different games covering DX11 and DX12. Some other notable titles include Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, which is 42 percent faster at 1080p on Ultra settings. Forza Motorsport 7 will be 19 percent faster at 1440p with DX12.

European Union sets new fine amount for Intel

European Union antitrust regulators have now decided that Intel should pay a fine of $400 million in a new meeting.

Intel’s performance claims come with some caveats. Even though the company disclosed percentage increases, it did not share actual frame rates. The benchmarks were also run on “high-end PCs” with 13th-generation processors and 32 GB of RAM.

The driver also appeared to make progress on bugs. Intel said that the performance issues in Starfield have been fixed, but there are still some bugs with textures and lighting.
